As
part of the activities of the Eco Club, a few students of the college
accompanied by their teachers attended a
Nature Camp at Periyar Tiger Reserve,
Thekkady from 19th to 21st
December 2012.
The
objective of the camp was to create an awareness and enthusiasm regarding the vital importance of conservation of Nature and natural
resources among students. The Nature trek served as a pious entry into the sacred world of living forms. The
participants listened to the calls and silence, trekked through the lush green forest, breathed fresh, unpolluted air and returned with an energized body and mind.
The
participants had the rare privilege of
being in the place chosen for the UNDP Biodiversity Award. They also had a
chance to see and learn the Ecotourism initiative
of the local tribes.
Missing
Rashid...
Only
two students of the English Optional Mr.Rashid and Ms.Nayana from the 225 students of the college could
attend the camp. Rashid is the ‘brooding-type’ amiable gentleman
whose company many adore. Unfortunately he fell ill twice in February, missed classes for over a month, and had to discontinue
studies. The students of the English
Optional 2012-13 batch miss him a lot. We hope
he would be able to fulfil his desire
of becoming a teacher, soon.
Wishing Rashid the very best in life...
